Soap Box Tuesday, november 30, 2004 It's All Your Fault Zoe!! I can't get out of this room! Can you? I can get as far as the safe, but can't get the bloody thing open! Grrrrrr... Monday, november 29, 2004 Thanks! Thank you all so much for your good wishes and positive energy! I started to feel human today for the first time in 18 loooooong days! Woohoo!! I'm just crossing my fingers that I'll feel good tomorrow too and maybe even go back to school on Wednesday. My stats final is next Thursday and I really gotta get with the program, as it were. It snowed here today. It was beautiful. We still have an inch or so on our roof. It doesn't feel like Christmas without a little snow. Keep your fingers crossed that I'm even better tomorrow!
:) Saturday, november 27, 2004 A Little Help? Today is my birthday and I'm still not well. Truly I don't know what to do about it. I'm now down 10 lbs at least. I don't know how I'm going to finish out the semester. It's all very upsetting and depressing. So if you have any good energy you can spare, whether you pray or meditate or whatever, could you send it my way? I think I could really use it. Thanks. Thursday, november 25, 2004 Thanksgiving I'm still not well but I think I'm getting better, really! Regardless, I am thankful for friends and family. I have such kind-hearted people in my life. I'm so fortunate to know them and share in their lives. I truly am a better person because of them. Tuesday, november 23, 2004 Yes, I'm Still Sick Dammit! This virus is vicious! I've lost 7 lbs in 11 days and have had 5 liters of fluids via IV. I'm thinking I should go back to the doc's tomorrow if I'm not better. It sucks. I start feeling better but then the next morning I'm sick again. Man oh man I'm at my wit's end. Dunno what to do. I can tell you one thing. It's amazing how when you're well, you never have enough time in the day but when you're sick, time stands still... Friday, november 19, 2004 This Blogger is Still Recovering After having a nasty stomach virus for over a week, I'm really shaky. Yesterday was the first day without major symptoms (I'm trying to spare you the grossness of it all). So now I'm so weak! Ugh. It's been going on so long now it's very frustrating. I'm wondering if I will ever feel "normal" again. I've missed a good week of school and kinda freaked out about that too. Nothing I can really do but just rest which turns into boredom pretty fast. Often I'm really too dizzy to read and comprehension is difficult. Ugh! Please please please may I be all better by Monday! Sunday, november 14, 2004 This Blogger is Sick Rgular blogging will continue soon... Tuesday, november 9, 2004 Something Nice Today was meltdown day in grad school. I have a paper due in 2 weeks and I have no topic. I thought I did but it evaporated and I'm just a tad stressed about the whole thing. So I was walking across campus freaking out over the paper when this undergrad that looked familiar but I couldn't quite place him stopped me and asked if I was teaching a course next semester. Sadly, no, I'm not. I'm swamped as it is. Turns out this kid remembers me guest lecturing for my mentor last school year (in the exciting and upbeat topics of suicide and fetal alcohol syndrome) and wants to take a course with me as the teacher! He said I was interesting and got my point across! Wow! Thanks! A compliment out of the blue like that can really make your day. Saturday, november 6, 2004 OK, Who Put The Cat In The Dryer? How is it possible to take a pair of pants out of the dryer and have them covered in car fur? What a pain in the ass! Thursday, november 4, 2004 Bad Smell You know what's a bad smell? The smell of red hot metal coming from your stove because you've turned on the wrong burner and that wrong burner had a pan on it, you idiot! Yes, I am the idiot. Wednesday, november 3, 2004 New Mexico In The News Just watched the local news. They start counting ballots here again at 9 a.m. Apparently, by law they have 10 days to count all the absentee and provisional ballots but they hope to have it all done in the next few days so if I does come down to NM, we're going to have to wait, but not wait as long as we will for Ohio. Why Ohio has a law that provisional ballots aren't counted until 11 days after the election is beyond me. Sounds really dumb. Today's scary fact is that if Bush wins, the Republicans will have control of the house, senate and white house. I thought shit like that wasn't supposed to happen. I mean, isn't that the whole idea behind having more than one political party? I definitely think there should be some sort of amendment saying no one party can dominate all three. Anyone behind me on this? So I guess now we wait. Tuesday, november 2, 2004 Election Reactions It COULD come down to my little state and it's tiny 5 electoral votes but it's not looking good. We won't know the winner in this state until around 3 am. I hope to be asleep by then. The polls closed here at 7pm but people were still in line as of 10pm! If Bush wins here (and he's in the lead right now) I'd imagine the Dems will take our Governor Richardson to task. The man can lead the DNC but can't deliver his own state? Congrats to Obama. He is so charismatic and well spoken. It is a pleasure to listen to him talk. MSNBC is projecting that in 10 of the 11 states that are voting to ban gay marriage will pass their measures. That makes me sad. As long as you're not hurting anyone or anything, why would you care who someone else loves and.or chooses to spend their lives with? I'll never understand it. Stupid young voters. You were supposed to get out and vote and make a damn difference! You'll be sorry when Bush reinstates the draft and who can you blame? Yourselves. The trends of this country scare me. Banning gay marriage, the Patriot Act, the huge deficit...I don't remember signing up for this. Vote Dammit! |
