This is kanji. Every character stands for a word. Kanji is used in China, Japan and Korea. This kanji says "love, peace, compassion, strength." If you ever want a kanji tattoo, thoroughly research the kanji yourself. As each character is an complete word, there are different characters for familial love, romantic love, jealous love, etc. For instance, my strength character means strength in health, not mental strength or emotional strength or physical strength. Don't assume your tattoo artist knows the difference.

This is my first tattoo. The snake is a symbol of Mother Earth.
